Coaching with Character
Our coaches are committed to more than just developing basketball skills—they're mentors who help shape young athletes into strong, respectful individuals with purpose. Through disciplined training, teamwork, and a focus on sportsmanship, our coaches instill values like principle, resilience, and accountability that extend far beyond the court. We believe that lessons learned in the game are the foundation for success in life.

Coach Keenan Moore
Owner & Co-Founder
Keenan Moore co-founded Keen Vision in 2012, inspired by his brother to create a program where Danbury players could proudly represent their hometown and give back to the community. Today, Coach Moore’s program continues to grow, serving players across the city and beyond. Known for his family-oriented, transparent, and disciplined approach, he instills these values in his players. A student of the game and experienced referee in Connecticut and New York, Coach Moore has a strong basketball network. He believes every child deserves a chance to succeed, often telling his players, “At Keen Vision, we come to make our mistakes.” This mindset ensures each player understands that the Keen Vision family is always there to support them, regardless of where they’ve been or where they’re headed. Coach Moore wants every child to know that they deserve the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential.

Coach Manny Gutierrez
Coach Manny Gutierrez, a former youth basketball player from Hollis, Queens, and LeFrak City, helped co-found KV over 12 years ago. Seeing a need for mentorship, Manny and Keenan formed a team to teach life lessons through basketball, eventually coaching Keenan's son, Keyon, and his friends during their formative years. Competing in top tournaments up and down the East Coast, many KV players advanced to high school and college. Manny also helped bring the FCIAC championship to DHS after a 26-year drought, marking a key milestone in his KV journey. Now, Manny coaches his son and continues to inspire the next generation of players.

unity & Accountability
We believe basketball is more than individual talent—it’s about the strength of the team. Through shared responsibility and mutual support, every athlete and family member plays a vital role. Our family unit is at the heart of our program, and it forms the foundation of our KV culture. In life and on the court, we’re not meant to go it alone.

strength & tenacity
We teach student athletes that true grit comes from consistent effort and mental toughness. We don’t coddle; we expect our players to work hard, learn from mistakes, and grow through challenges. Our focus on mental and physical strength extends beyond basketball—preparing players to face life’s obstacles with determination and resilience.

discipline & integrity
Discipline is showing up consistently, putting in the work even when it’s tough, and staying committed to team goals over personal. Integrity is doing the right thing—even when no one’s watching, whether it’s playing fair, or supporting teammates. Together, they shape the character of our players and standard of our program.

Core principals

College Bound
Coach Moore sees basketball as a powerful tool to help young people channel their energy in meaningful, constructive ways. While character building remains his top priority, Coach Moore and his team is equally dedicated to helping athletes who aspire to play at the collegiate level achieve their dreams.
our home base
Home is where the court is -and our home base is more than just a gym—the Danbury War Memorial is where our coaches grew up playing and has been a cornerstone of the city since 1951. It's a place where kids go to improve their game, and build camaraderie with friends. This iconic space has been shaping the community for decades, offering a safe place for our youth to grow, bond, and stay off the streets.
